Our Top 5 Tequila Cocktails!

This weekend marks National Tequila Day, so you know what that means... Tequila Cocktails!

If you're partial to a Margarita or love the fruitiness of a Paloma, you're in the right place. We've listed out top 5 cocktails in celebration of the versatile Mexican spirit for National Tequila Day!

The origins of Tequila date back to 250-300 A.D. where the Aztec Indians first fermented the juice of the agaveto produce their ceremonial wine, 'pulque'. Fast forward to 1600 when Tequila first began being mass produced in the territory of modern-day Jalisco, Mexico.

The beauty of Tequila is that its agave flavour brings an earthy, semi-sweet element to drinks. It's a flavour you won't find in any other distilled spirit, and it's fascinating to discover how that reacts in a variety of cocktails.

So, whether you're new to Tequila or a seasoned drinker, we can guarantee you'll find something to tantalise those Tequila tastebuds this weekend.

Rose Paloma

The Paloma is a well respected cocktail in its home country of Mexico, and some say it's even more popular than the Margarita.

Our twist on this popular Mexican drink uses rose syrup to lift the floral notes which are balanced by the bitter-sweet flavours of pink grapefruit juice.

Sunday Service

Tequila and cucumber, sounds delicious right? Which is exactly what the Sunday Service cocktail is.

This cocktail of Tequila, Aperol, lemon juice, cucumber and ginger is certainly one for the cocktail connoisseurs out there.

Oaxaca Old Fashioned

Oaxaca - pronouced Wa-Ha-Ca, can be found in the far south of Mexico.

Our Oaxaca Old Fashioned features Tequila and Mezcal at its core to give it a smokey, yet slightly spicey flavour which we reckon would go down well in the streets of Oaxaca.

Pineapple Tommy

The Tommy's Margarita was invented by the son of the original owners of San Fransisco’s famed Tommy’s Bar and Restaurant in the late 1980s.

The Pineapple Tommy is a slight tweak on this classic, using pineapple infused agave syrup that creates a new depth of flavour.
