The original Hemingway Daiquiri was created for Ernest Hemingway at El Floridita in Havana, Cuba when Hemingway tried the standard Daiquiri and said “that’s good, but I prefer it without sugar and with double rum” – so the Hemingway special was born.
Here we’ve substituted the rum for a blanco tequila to give this cocktail a citrus twist with slightly spicy notes and a subtle sweetness from the agave.
- 40ml Blanco Tequila
- 25ml grapefruit juice
- 20ml maraschino liqueur
- 15ml lime
- 3 dash Peychaud Bitters
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice
Add all ingredients and shake for 10 seconds
Strain into a coupé glass
Garnish with maraschino cherry
