Collection: Liqueur

A liqueur doesn't need to posses any particular qualities or be based in a particular region to be called a liqueur. Liqueurs are made by adding flavourings, such as fruit or spices, to a spirit base (often vodka, gin or whisky). Typically liqueurs also contain sugar, which makes them ideal for sweeter cocktails.

Some of the first liqueurs were created as herbal medicines, and there are records as far back as the 13th Century where monks would create herbal tinctures to cure various ailments.
